Editorial Policy & Verification Standards

At Refersto.com, editorial integrity is our highest priority. The referral and coupon industry has long suffered from spam and fabricated claims. This document outlines our formal standards.

1. Mandatory Editorial Review

No article, referral code, or discount voucher is ever published without explicit review and approval by our senior editor. Every deal requires hands-on testing, source verification, and editorial sign-off.

2. Ground-Truth Source Verification

Every listing on Refersto.com must be supported by at least one official, verifiable source URL (e.g., the partner platform’s terms page, support portal, or official app announcement). We never publish rumors or unverified promotional hearsay.

3. The Zero-Fabrication Rule

  • No Invented Discounts: We do not artificially inflate discount numbers or claim non-existent savings.
  • No Fake Expiry Timers: We strictly prohibit false countdown timers intended to create artificial urgency.
  • Explicit Eligibility Rules: If a promotion is restricted to first-time buyers, specific regions, or users with certain credit scores, this is prominently displayed.

4. Handling Expired Promotions

Promotional terms change frequently. When an offer expires, our system flags it with an "Expired" status badge and moves it below active offers. We do not delete past articles instantly to prevent broken URLs, but we warn users clearly that benefits are no longer guaranteed.

5. Material AI Rewrites

Whenever an existing article undergoes a substantial update or revision, the copy remains in a draft review state until our editor conducts a re-verification of the live terms.

6. Reader Feedback & Audit Loop

If you discover an error or an unannounced term modification by a brand, please report it via [email protected]. We audit flagged listings within 24 business hours.
